Tip Top-Lit.

Individualised Learning Programme for children with dyslexia and/or needing support in Literacy

Tip Top-Lit.® is an evidence-based learning programme developed out of longstanding practical experience in enabling children to reach their learning potential and to succeed.

The programme provides direct instruction in key literacy skills, including:

  • alphabetics (including phonics & phonemic awareness)

  • word reading

  • spelling

  • vocabulary

  • reading fluency & comprehension

  • writing/handwriting

This is combined with an emotional regulation component, including strategies such as positive narrative, affirmations and goal setting . These are designed to strengthen and empower children at an emotional level, in order to build:

  • academic self-belief

  • independence

  • motivation

  • self-regulation

  • overall confidence.

Sessions can be conducted individually and in small groups (up to 4), and are suitable for children from 6-11 years of age, across a range of literacy and confidence levels.

The programme utilises our trademark resource kit, including affirmation cards, ergonomic writing tools, and a graded ‘Black Belt’ system of High Frequency Words. Literacy tasks are aligned with national curriculum standards and taught at individualised levels following a well-established reading comprehension scheme (Nelson, Oxford University Press). All resources are independent of devices and are dyslexia friendly.

Programme classes take place at the STEM Centre (Orchard House School, Chiswick) on Saturday mornings and during holidays. Sessions are run by our team of highly experienced educational professionals. Please click here to find out more.

Tip Top-Lit.® is designed to work within diverse school settings and schedules, and may be used by trained SENCos, Learning Support staff and Teachers. Schools interested in finding out more are welcome to enquire for further details.
